Project Scope for a network upgrade included the construction project management of new
and repairs of existing sites as part of the upgrading of public safety microwave networks for
counties and water districts in the state of California. The project activities were performed at
actively operating communication sites/shelters that include installation of
telecommunications equipment, microwave dishes, antennas, waveguide and AC/DC
equipment. Construction services in the scope included construction of free standing towers
up to 200ft, new shelters and foundations, replacement of fire damaged shelters, generators,
propane, electrical connections, grading and fencing. Additional project service included
analysis of existing towers and foundations, providing P.E. Structural analysis and
Geotechnical analysis reports to either show repair recommendations or new construction to
bring structures into compliance with ANSI/TIA-222 standards. The project team was able to
complete a microwave and MPLS network upgrade but also bring remotes site and tower up
to construction standards.
